| Campania |
|
|
The mild climate, the enchanting countryside, the exuberance and the fervid imagination of its people, for over twenty five centuries have made this region one of the most charming and sought after holiday resorts in the world.
Throughout its history the Etruscans, Greeks, Romans, Normans, Angevins, Spanish, French and Austrians arrived here in armies as conquerors, only to become captured by the sweet intensity of its colours, perfumes, flavours and songs of this happy land. Pompei, Sorrento, Napoli, Ischia, Capri, Amalfi, Positano and more and more: Campania waits for you!

Capri is surrounded by a deep and blue sea andt has rugged coasts characterized by strange cliffs
named Faraglioni. There are many grottos, too and the most famous of them is the Grotta Azzurra.
Inside the island you can find many little green plateaus. And don´t forget to visit the numerous villas,
the beautiful gardens owned to Augusto and Tiberio, the Villa San Michele, the silent churches, the
Certosa and of course the famous Piazzetta!
You can reach Capri by ferry-boat from Napoli but you cannot ferry cars. (Place: Capri)

Protruding out into the Mediterranean sea on the west coast of Italy, the Sorrento Peninsula is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas in the Mediterranean. There is much more to it, though, than the lovely town of Sorrento, perched on the cliffs overlooking the bay towards Naples and the volcano at Mount Vesuvius. The peninsula is central to many attractions including the Amalfi Coast and Positano, the Isles of Capri and Ischia, the city of Naples, Pompei and Mount Vesuvius to mention only a few. (Place: Casamicciola Terme)
